Here is Aliyah Rose trying to fly a Seahawk helicopter at Sun-n-Fun 2018. She asked the Navigator what two of the controls were (the cyclic and the collective), and then tried to fasten her seatbelt. You can see in this pic that she has both hands on the straps – she knows you need to buckle up!
The Navigator helped her get properly buckled, and then she told him he could close the door. She literally thought she was going to take this bird up! We all had to hold back giggles as he politely told her, “I can’t do that, ma’am.” She was not pleased but managed to maintain her dignity. I later explained that her feet need to be able to reach the pedals. We’re still working on that part!
