Happy Easter everyone! The Aliyah Rose family just received this letter from Mr. E. Bunny, and thought we should pass it along, for those who are into Easter, bunnies, or just egg salad sandwiches. (*clears throat, adjusts spectacles, and starts reading in convincing “grandma” voice*):
– E A S T E R – B U N N Y – B U L L E T I N –
Like many of you, I have been struggling with binge eating and/or constant snacking during this confinement. This is my 5TH CARROT today and it is not even noon. I have already finished off all of the leftover Valentine candy, but I have not been able to get out and buy my usual chocolate eggs. Probably, that’s a good thing. I realize that it’s all stress-driven, of course.
Bear in mind, I have all these baskets to deliver this weekend and I can’t even get out! We have all had our plans disrupted during these weeks, but Easter cannot be postponed! Can you imagine the pressure I am under? Only Santa can really grasp my predicament, who, incidentally, has been providing me with comfort and encouragement. He keeps reminding me to hold onto my faith in God, miracles do happen and things will somehow work out.
I have been getting in my 30 minutes of hopping every day. Alone, of course. If the weather is bad I hop inside, which is a challenge. I am staying with an artist friend and there are wet canvases everywhere. Please note that I am TOTALLY covered in white fur. I am forced to pay close attention while doing my indoor hopping.
I hope everybody put up their Easter decorations. It’s not too late! Even a small touch of Easterianna can make a difference. Instead of saying, don’t waste a crisis, I say, don’t waste a holiday! Celebrations are stress-busters; celebrations cheer us up and boost immunity- Joy and health belong to each other.
I would also suggest listening to ‘In Your Easter Bonnet’ with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire (on youtube). Such a classic. We play it at all our family gatherings, regardless of the time of year. It always inspires lots of laughter and jubilant, galactic hopping!!!!
I come from a long and illustrious line of Easter Bunnies and I will close with something my grandfather often said,
‘Life is like an egg. It’s all about what you do with it. It can end up scrambled or sunnyside up!’
Enjoy your days ahead and always remember, some Bunny loves you.
The Easter Bunny
P.S. I just had a feeling, and it’s only a feeling, that all of the Easter Bunnies that have gone before me are organizing a Heavenly brigade to deal with the current basket-delivery dilemma. It wouldn’t surprise me because Easter Bunnies don’t just have big ears, they have big hearts. LET’S SEE WHAT HAPPENS!”
Have a wonderful and blessed Easter, wherever you are, whatever your plans, and whatever your beliefs. We are sending you our love, best wishes, and prayers. Pass it along, human!
