Keeping It Clean: the Aliyah Rose Method

Aliyah Rose scrubs the kitchen sink

Since Corona Virus 19 hit us all, we’ve been particularly careful about sanitation and keeping things germ-free. However, Aliyah has been a step ahead of us all the way!

Aliyah has always been a very clean little person, and lets us know that she is willing to pitch in ANY time to help us with, or completely take over, the housework. And of course she is very particular about correct procedures for washing hands and personal hygiene as well. After all, cleanliness is next to Godliness!

Aliyah, like any normal, rational child of three or four, insists on helping Grams mop the kitchen floor any chance she gets.

How did they ever let this floor get into such a state? *sighs*

She also like to help fold the laundry. And hide in it. And throw it up in the air like autumn leaves. Her favorite part (aside from hiding under the laundry basket) is hanging EVERYTHING up on hangers. Like her dresses, socks, and pajamas. Grandad may have been a bit confused when he walked in and his underwear was on hangers. He puts up with a lot from us girls, which is one of the many reasons we love him so much!

Fold me, I’m yours.

Of course, not all housework is about playing in the clean laundry. Sometimes you have to get your hands dirty.

And sometimes you try really hard NOT to get your hands dirty…

Luckily for us, most cleaning tasks are more fun than scrubbing toilets. Like cleaning out and organizing your sock drawer….

Note: We all swear this was *completely* voluntary. With enthusiasm and great relish. Not only was each drawer wiped down with a damp sponge, it was lovingly wiped dry with a clean washcloth. And then the front of each drawer was polished. Puts her Grams to shame.

…And organizing your bookshelf. With your Gram’s foot massager. Hmmm, so that’s where that thing went… and where are your books???

And your plushie toys. With Grandad’s clarinet mouthpiece. And now *that* mystery is solved too. Is nothing safe from all this organizing????

Aliyah loves to help clean up when we make cakes. Seriously, *somebody* has to clean the spoon and bowl when Grams accidentally left too much frosting in them. Aliyah is never one to shy away from the hard work, so she jumps right in and does her part. Way to go!

And there you have it. Cleaning can be fun, rewarding, and delicious. Who says you can’t have it all?

Have a great week, see you soon!

  1. What a darling little girl ! I used to have a little girl about like that, but that was many years ago. Aliyah Rose is a lucky little girl to have a Grams that keeps a sharp eye on her ! I love to see her beautiful eyes.
